The Basketball Hall of Fame grants Ice Cube his own impact award.

A new award has been created by the Basketball Hall of Fame. This award is named after Ice Cube to honor Cube’s “extraordinary contributions to the world of basketball.”

The Basketball H.O.F released a statement explaining the purpose behind granting Cube with the Ice Cube Impact Award.

“The unique collaboration with Cube is aimed at honoring the rapper’s extraordinary contributions to the world of basketball, his unparalleled passion for the game, and his unwavering commitment to encourage crucial dialogues surrounding inclusivity, equal opportunity, and racial and social justice while contributing to initiatives focused on education and community development.”

“Ice Cube’s unquestionable passion for the game and his desire to see it utilized as a catalyst for positive impact on communities are unwavering. His sphere of influence in both the entertainment industry and in the professional sports arena brings remarkable authenticity and value to his award. We are delighted to join hands with Ice Cube as he leverages his love of the game to inspire others. The rapper showed his gratitude towards the new award created in his honor in a series of tweets.

“Basketball has had a positive impact on my life in so many ways. Thank you to the Naismith Basketball H.O.F for establishing the Ice Cube Impact Award, which will honor those who work to improve their community by using basketball as a tool to help kids. I’m honored.”

The BIG3 Vs The NBA Feud Continues

Although the Basketball H.O.F is honoring Cube with this prestigious award, Cube is still in an ongoing battle with the NBA.

Ice Cube alleges the NBA is trying to terminate his BIG3 League. The Justice Department is treading lightly investigating a possible violation of the Anti-Trust law. The NBA will receive a hefty fine if it proves to be true that the basketball league has been preventing its players from participating in Cube’s BIG3 League.

Cube founded the BIG3 League for basketball fans who wanted basketball to continue in the summer after the NBA Finals conclude.

Allegedly, the NBA has been holding their players and referees from participating in the BIG3.

Nonetheless, the Ice Cube Impact Award will be presented to Cube at the Naismith H.O.F on MLK Day on January 15, 2024 in Springfield, Massachusetts.
