Posted by

On Friday (July 28), reality T.V. personality and Hip-Hop artist Jessica Dime, also known as Dimepiece, sat down with Ferrari Simmons, Su Solo, and You Know BT of The Baller Alert Show to talk about what she has been up to since the last time she has been on television.

Prior to Jessica’s return to reality television, she was last seen on WE-TV’s Marriage Boot Camp: Hip-Hop Edition. The season featured not only Jessica Dime and her husband Shawne Williams, but “Crank That” rapper Soulja Boy was also on the show accompanied by his girlfriend Mia Riley. Along with rapper Waka Flocka and his wife Tammy Rivera, singer Lil Mo and boxer Karl Darga, and Lil Fizz with Tiffany Campbell.

*P.S. not couples remained together after the show*

As of today, Jessica Dime has returned back to the spotlight with her own reality T.V. show.

What is “The Mint”

The Mint is a show that is executive produced by Jessica Dime on a streaming platform called Now That’s TV, where she casted thirteen exotic dancers to showcase their talents in hopes of transitioning them out of the dancing business.

“They’re trying to get out of the club, sort of like my situation. I was dancing then I started rapping and then Flo Rida signed me. So, the girls that I picked, they’re talented; they rap, sing, act, [and] they got businesses. They’re just all around stars and I just want to see them do good in the industry. I’m in ‘The Mint’ molding them into what I feel like they need to be [in order] to be successful and [to] get them to the next level.”

Differences Between “The Mint” & “Joseline’s Cabaret”

Viewers began to question the similarities with Jessica’s show, The Mint, and Joseline’s show, Joseline’s Cabaret. Both of the shows feature the use of exotic dancers. Jessica Dime and Joseline Hernandez were once co-stars of VH1’s Love & Hip-Hip Atlanta and both came out of the dancing culture prior to their careers on television.

Jessica clarifies that Joseline’s Cabaret is a tour of dancers who are “still dancing,” while The Mint acts as a medium to transition dancers out of dancing and into corporate.

“And that’s something I wanted to explain to people too. It’s nothing like her show. Shoutout to her. That’s what she got going on. She’s four seasons in. I’m only an audition episode in and it has [already] been a comparison and I think that’s crazy.

But it’s a difference if we talk about ‘Joseline’s Cabaret’ and we talking about ‘The Mint’. [‘The Mint’] is for them to get out and in ‘Joseline’s Cabaret’ they’re still dancing with her going on tour which is a great opportunity as well.

The girls that I picked, they came to me because they look up to me. They didn’t go to ‘Joseline’s Cabaret.’ They came to ‘The Mint.’ So my thing is to try to transition them out of the club. It’s challenges, it’s different things we doing in there. I’m letting them showcase their talent. I’m trying to get to the root of issues they might have. It’s a lot going on in ‘The Mint.’
