Davido Closing The Gap Between Africa & U.S.

On Saturday (November 18), Grammy-nominated international superstar Davido sold out the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia for his headlined A.W.A.Y (Are We African Yet?) Festival.

The showcase included big names from Afrobeats such as E Cool, King Promise, Lo Jay, Major Kun, Musa Keys, Spinall, TXC, and Victony.

Sources report that the A.W.A.Y Fest was created to promote and foster cultural exportation and collaboration between Africa and the rest of the world. The Fest was held in Atlanta, Georgia to pay homage to the city that welcomed Davido with open arms. Even though the artist was born in Georgia, he considers his home to be Lagos, Nigeria.

The event was sponsored by Martell Cognac, who prepared cocktails to selected guests. The festival also supplied refreshments fitting for the show such as fried plantains, herb chicken with jollof rice to name a few.

Following the success of the concert, Davido posted a short video that summed up the night along with a caption to share his excitement.

“A.W.A.Y Fest was a MOVIE!!!

One of the most magical nights of my life, selling out @statefarmarena with my family and friends is what we do this for. TIMELESS moments ⏳.

If you were there in Atlanta, you witnessed history, if your you missed it… we may be working on something massive for 2024 so stay tapped in!”
