Earlier this afternoon (Sept. 8), Not Like Us rapper Kendrick Lamar posted to his Twitter/X account making it known that he will be the chosen performer for Super Bowl LIX that’s touching down in New Orleans next year, February 9th, 2025.
Rapper and businessman Jay-Z gave his statement on why the California Compton-native was chosen to take over the halftime show this time around. HOV explained,
“Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer. His deep love for Hip-Hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”
Kendrick posted the official announcement to his YouTube platform bringing in nearly 1.5 million views insight hours and is sitting at number three trending!
