Welterweight boxer Terence Crawford became the Undisputed Boxing Champion last Saturday (July 29) in an effortless win against challenger Errol Spence Jr.

In fact, after celebrating his win, Crawford sat down with HOT 97’s Ebro in the Morning to not only recount the details of the night of his victorious win, but he also answered some of the burning questions we all wanted to know.

Who Will Terence Crawford Fight Next?

Not even five minutes into the discussion, Crawford is adamant that his next opponent will be with the Undisputed Light Middleweight World Champion, Jermell Charlo.

Apparently, Crawford was seen exchanging a few words with Charlo moments after his big win against Errol Spence Jr.

Ebro (Show Host): “You and Charlo was getting chippy. He was ring side. What words did you guys say to each other?”

Terence Crawford: “I just gave him a little peace of my mind. We’ve been going back for sometime. I was in the moment and I just thought to let him know that I’m coming for him too.”

What of Crawford & Spence Relationship?

Although Crawford made the fight look easy against Errol, Crawford expresses the magnitude of respect he has for Errol Spence Jr.

Leading up to the fight, Crawford felt that the fans were trying to ‘divide and conquer’ them, but Crawford makes it crystal clear that he is a fan of Spence Jr. and has followed his career through all the trials and tribulations.

Crawford, nicknamed Bud, explained the extensive time frame he’d given Errol Spence Jr. following his car accident to be sure Errol was ‘healthy and at his best’ to avoid any doubts or excuses concerning Crawford’s win.

I respect the hell out of Errol. I’m a fan of Errol. I been a fan of his ever since he was in the amateurs. I followed his career. Things like this never was personal. I think the fans pick a side [and] try to make it personal. [They] Try to divide and conquer. You know, two fighters that’s going for the same goal and trying to become the Undisputed Welterweight Champion of the World. That’s what I felt the fans was trying to do.

Every fight that I fight, there’s an excuse for the opponent. Either they’re shaming the opponent or they not giving me credit for my victory. When a lot of people were saying, ‘Fight Errol, fight Errol,’ I said, ‘Man listen, I don’t never want to fight Errol coming off an accident of that magnitude. I want him to get back right. Get back one-hundred percent and then I want to fight him at his best. That way, nobody can say anything.’

Will There Be a Rematch?

Crawford is open to the idea of a rematch with Errol Spence Jr. Crawford even went so far as to give a time estimate.

Yes. I’ll have too. He gave me the opportunity. If it happens, it’ll probably be the end of this year.
